Wedding Tips
- Prepare a checklist prior to your ceremony so nothing gets forgotten as it will be a very busy day for all of you.
- Get someone to take any symbolic or ritual items with them to be given to the Celebrant prior to the wedding.
- Check who is looking after the rings if you are exchanging rings.
- Make sure the wedding party eats something before leaving on the day. It is a long day until you all get fed and particularly if you are drinking champagne or beer on an empty stomach.
- Check for prior council approval of venue locations
- Plan a backup location if your ceremony is to be held outdoors.
- Plan to have chairs if you have older guests.
- Think of supplying light refreshments if your wedding party is outside. This adds a nice touch to your day and encourages people to stay around a little longer before heading off to your reception.
- Have someone carry a sewing kit for emergencies.
- Have a nominated person on the day who will look after anything that may arise and will take care of payments that need to be paid on the day, seating, organising the groomsmen etc.
- If you have an outdoor wedding and have a backup location print the details or a contact number on your invitation so that people know where to go to if you have to suddenly change locations. Most people carry the invitation with them.
- If you are planning a wedding on a beach be mindful that windy weather can spoil your day and photos! Try to pick an area that may be a bit sheltered in the event of bad weather.
- Lastly relax and enjoy!
